In fish restaurants of Apulia and Porto a tasty fresh seabream plus side dish will be served for around 

15 €. The right wine for the dish (Vinho Verde) would cost around 7 €, a beer not more than 1,50 €.

< p>Portuguese-style coffee after the dinner costs 1€. Cake for the dessert is the same. „Prato de dia“ is the expression for the traditional Portuguese lunch. It comes either with fish or with meat plus side dish and a soup is affordable at 7 € zu.

 

The Portuguese cuisine is simple but very tasty and filling.

The national dish is stockfish (bacalhau). It said that there are more then 300 ways of cooking it. Other popular dishes include caldo verde which is a soup with cabbage and grilled sardines. There are also small baked pastery (pasteis) with meat, shells or seafood which have proven very tasty.
