SURFING WITH ElementFish

Thanks to Portugal’s favourable location at the Atlantic Ocean there are perfect surfing waves from October till May (off-season). The peak starts with powerful, high waves from the middle of September. This is when a pro’s (or a wannabe’s) heart beats faster.

In summer waves are less powerful and high. These are perfect conditions for beginners or shooting stars. ElementFish do not offer a surfing-only camp in peak season, but only the All-in-One Kite & Surfcamps. This is because of heavy wind coming up in the afternoon in the summer months.

ElementFish is prepared for surfers of all levels, in their surfing camp and for surf guiding, in the north of Portugal.

Surfers (in the making) will find top conditions near the kitehouse Ofir too. It’s the perfect environment for beginning to learn this sport that takes you right to the heart of nature. The gently sloping beach of Ofir slows down the Atlantic waves. Those waves turn into easy nice  breakers without any interruption to take on its sandbank.

Thanks to this year’s winter storm there is a good sandbank at the river mouth of Rio Cavado, only 5 minutes by car from the kitehouse. Well experienced surfers find steep, fast waves and the local surfers there will welcome you in the line up.

Relaxed surfing without getting in any trouble for riding the waves as it can happen at many crowded beaches in Europe.
